How to reduce image file size?

Image resolution

Image file size (bytes) depends on the number and depth of pixels composing an image. The greater the image solution, the larger the image file size is created.

Resolution setting is available in converting formats of BMP, TIFF, PNG, JPG, GIF and PCX.
If you increase resolution, the width and height will increase, the file size will increase, and vice versa.

  • Image width (pixels) = Resolution (pixels per inch) * Page_width (inch)
  • Image height (pixels) = Resolution (pixels per inch) * Page_height (inch)

For example, one PDF page which is 8.5" by 11", if define the image resolution in the converter to 100 dpi and then the converted file size is 850 * 1100 pixels.
